Ep 43: The Hunger Games
For this special, face-to-face recording, we chose a story that's had a big impact on our lives and on the genre it popularized: The Hunger Games. It's a story that takes an outlandish concept and gives it an intense emotional truth. We talk about the disconnect between those in power and those they oppress, the value of noble ideals versus survival at any cost, and how acts borne solely out of emotion can be perceived as political and revolutionary.
